Posted on: January 27, 2009

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are an acrobatic flight demonstration team which began in April of 1946.  Their acrobatic shows draw millions of fans every year from March until November with special appearances at air shows on Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are made up of both officers and enlisted ranks from the U.S. Navy in addition to the Marine Corps.  Pilots usually serve two years and the position they are assigned is dependent upon the team needs, pilot experience and career considerations of its members.
