List of U.S. Navy Ships Could Be Found On the Internet

Posted on: January 27, 2009

The Naval Vessel Register is where the U.S. Navy maintains an official list of ships currently in use in addition to past U.S. Navy ships.

The list of U.S. Navy Ships is listed alphabetically according to the first name and not the last name.  For example the Lady Washington is listed under L for Lady and not W for Washington.

The official list of U.S. Navy Ships include aircraft carriers, frigates, battleships, destroyers, destroyer escorts, cruisers, escort carriers, patrol vessels, sailing frigates, steam gunboats, steam frigates and monitors.
